The It Factor Productions Tip: Know your Modeling Clients: Before you show up for a modeling gig or an acting audition you need
to do research on that client. You should know about their company,
their image, and what they might be trying to convey with this
particular modeling project. Doing this type of research will help you
be a better model and land jobs with clients. Here is some information
you would look up with you were going to a modeling audition for
Alexander Wang. Alexander Wang is an American fashion designer and Creative Director of
Balenciaga. He’s had quite a prolific career. At age 18, he moved to New
York City to attend Parsons. In 2005, after just two years at Parsons,
he decided to pursue the launch of his own label, which predominantly
began with a knitwear collection. In Fall 2007, Wang presented a
complete women’s ready-to-wear collection on the New York catwalk for
the first time, to critical acclaim. He won the Vogue Fashion Fund in
2008, an honor accompanied by a $200,000 award to expand one’s business.
That same year, he launched his first handbag collection. The next
year, he launched T by Alexander Wang.
His lines are now stocked globally in more than 700 doors including
luxury department stores such as Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus,
Bergdorf Goodman, Dover Street Market, Browns, and Net-A-Porte. Wang is known for his urban designs. After designing a Fall 2008
collection using black as the predominant color, he designed his Spring
2009 collection using bright colors such as orange, dusty purple, aqua
and hot pink. Although he reverted to using mainly black fabrics, he
was praised for showing great tailoring skills.
